Dirt Navy

Our Why

Our founder Ryan Ruthe registered Next Level Civil in March 2019 with the intention of building the next fresh-faced, next-generation Civil Construction company in Auckland & beyond. In his years observing the industry working in both young & old companies, Ryan realized that the industry's workforce is aging & there would come a time for a change of guard in the Auckland market. The key for the future would not be to have the best machines or the most people, but the knowledge of the old, passed to the next young generation of contractors, building Aotearoa New Zealand.

By adapting a modern-era vision of contracting, we have heavily adopted technology into attract skilled, young talent and have a culture built on upholding old-school standards, in a new-age industry. We focus on getting the basics right like delivering your projects to a high standard, promoting & training our people from within, creating pathways for our people to progress & grow a fulfilling career in a fast-paced, rewarding industry.

It's easy to look flashy & have the flash equipment, the nice social media pages and sell everyone the dream. We just sticking to the knitting and are a passionate team, building great things. We're in the business of dirt, concrete, asphalt & getting our hands dirty and you'll often find our management team out onsite laying asphalt with the team and putting in the hard graft.

Our leaders have grown with us on our journey & have started from the bottom and are now shaping the delivery & direction of Next Level Civil, we are excited to continue expanding our capability & resources over time and offer more turn-key services for our customers, in-house & on-time.

Working and learning in the seats of machines & by the soles of his boots, alongside some of the industry's greats. This has taught him to extremely value the blue collars of life and completely cemented his ideas on the value of hard, hands-on work to achieve great things in all aspects of life.
